Extra patrols are put in the area. Your local Neighbourhood Police team worked alongside Sunderland ASB team and outreach youth workers to target persistent offenders and also to divert young people into organised activities. Dispersal Notices are all used to target persistent offenders who run the risk of being arrested should they fail to leave the area. Police are also working with retailers to improve security

Motorcycle Disorder - We Did

A number of motorcycles have been seized and crushed by the Neighbourhood Team.  Work is ongoing to target riders who persistently engage in motorcycle disorder.  This includes the seizing of bikes, effective use of anti-social behaviour legislation, tenancy enforcement action in conjunction with landlords and targetted patrols of areas subject of disorder, especially Fulwell Quarry.

Disorderly Households - We Did

Concerns were raised about households engaged in crime and anti-social behaviour.  We are working with communities and partner agencies, especially housing organisations to effectively deal with such households.  We are working with agencies including Strengthening Families; Gentoo; Drug and Alcohol Treatment Providers and Mental Health Teams to divert people away from crime and anti-social behaviour.  Enforcement tactics include a wide range of measures using both criminal and civil legislation.  This includes acceptable behaviour agreements, community penalty notices, the recent granting of Closure Order in Roker and where necessary the eviction of the perpetrator.
