Rural Crime - You Said

Residents across the Berwick sector have raised their concerns to the police, via Farm Watch, through their Parish Councils, and at recent engagements days held at local auction marts in relation to rural theft and poaching.

Rural Crime - We Did

Reassurance and crime prevention visits have been, and are still on going, to speak to farmers and rural businesses. New signage for the Farm Watch scheme have been/in process of being delivered.

Officers have been directed to ensure high visibility patrols in the target areas.

Positive action has been taken against offenders. Joint operations with key stakeholders are planned.

Information has been sent out via Farm Watch to raise awareness in relation to suspicious incidents reported.

Farm Watch database has been/in process of being updated on a regular basis.

Anti Social Behaviour - We Asked

What are your concerns in your community?

Anti Social Behaviour - You Said

Residents in the Berwick sector have complained about drug/alcohol related anti-social behaviour and general disorder by youths in and around the areas of Berwick Town Centre, Eastcliffe, Highcliffe and the Prior Park areas.

Anti Social Behaviour - We Did

A number of different measures have been implemented which has assisted to reduce the disorder.

Multi agencies and partners made aware of issues in these areas which included Northumberland County Council, Community Safety and local housing associations.

Directed patrols by officers to target problem areas and individuals.

Intelligence is continually being gathered to serve individuals with ASB letters / Community Protection Notices to reduce their behaviour in problem areas.

Positive outcomes having been made with numerous ASB letters having been sent out, with a positive and happy outcome from local residents.

Police Visibility - You Said

We would like to see more officers visible on foot patrols and in Town Centre areas

Police Visibility - We Did

Patrol plans set out for officers to be more visible in local parks and on High Street  to engage with public and provide reassurance. Officers interacted with customers at shopping centre to promote security around properties as the darker nights approach and provide crime prevention advice.
