Appeal after robbery at Co-op in Gateshead

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in Gateshead last night.

At around 9.50pm last night (Monay) police recieved a report of intruders at the Co-operative store on Dewhurst Terrace in Sunniside.

An unknown male has entered the store, threatened a female staff member and demanded they hand over cash.

He then fled in the shop with a small quantity of cash. Nobody was hurt during the incident but staff were left very shaken.

The offender is described as white, short in height and in his 20s. He was wearing a dark grey charcoal hooded top, black jogging bottoms and a black scarf covering his face.
