Amble attempted shop robbery arrest

Police investigating an attempted shop robbery in Amble last month have arrested a man.

The incident took place at the Convenience Store on Queen Street at 6.33am on Saturday, February 25, the offender left the premises empty handed.

Following an investigation a 23-year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and bailed pending further enquiries.

Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information should call Northern CID on 101, quoting reference number 280 of 25/02/17 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
