Appeal after robbery in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in Newcastle.

At around 9.25pm on Wednesday evening (15/2) police received a report of a robbery at the One Stop Store on Two Ball Lonnen in Newcastle.

An unknown male had entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded the male employee hand over cash.

He fled with a small quantity of cash in the direction of Netherby Drive. The employee was uninjured in the incident.

Police inquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the offender and officers are now asking for any witnesses to get in touch.

The offender is describes as around 6ft tall, wearing a balaclave and a grey hooded top.
