As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

A list of driving offence (those committed by drivers) in the past three years, including the age of those arrested and the crime they were arrested for, whether it is drink driving related or prosecuted for speeding etc. I am particularly interested in those committed by those under the age of 18 and those over the age of 75.

In response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.

Please note that the results for this FOI are based on searching for all the people arrested over the last three financial years for "Driving Offences".

The results of this have been grouped to show how many were under 18 years of age, between 18 and 75 years of age and over 75 years of age, separately for each year including the type of offence committed which lead to an arrest being made.

With the above in mind please see the below attached.
