In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police.
I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

1. No civilian Police Staff positions have been deleted or made redundant (voluntary or involuntary) as a result of outsourcing to private companies since May 2010. A total of 539 police staff have left the force as part of the Voluntary Redundancy scheme since May 2010. In addition, 21 police staff have been made compulsory redundant since May 2010.

2. The Police & Crime Commissioner’s estates strategy envisages the creation of neighbourhood police bases in the heart of communities to replace old and expensive to run police buildings which are often not fit for purpose. In every instance, where an existing police station has been disposed of or is planned to be disposed of as part of the estates strategy it has been or will be replaced by another police facility.

3.Northumbria Police currently have 60 licenced police dogs.
We hold no records of the number of operational dogs in May 2010.
There are currently no plans to change the current number of Police dogs.

4. In May 2010 there were 906 vehicles on the fleet. We currently have 765 decreasing to 742 in 2015.

5. There have been no specialist sexual crimes investigation officer positions deleted since May 2010 and there are no planned changes in 2015.

6. None. There have been no traffic officer positions deleted or made redundant since 2010 and there are no planned changes in 2015.

7.  Currently there are 34 Neighbourhood Policing Teams in force. In May 2010, there were 37 Neighbourhood Policing Teams in force. The reduction in numbers from 2010 to 2015 is not due to a reduction in Neighbourhood Policing Teams or posts, but simply an amalgamation of specific sectors within areas, which in turn has lead to larger teams for larger areas.
There have been no Neighbourhood Policing Team roles deleted since May 2010. There will be no reduction in Neighbourhood Police Team roles in 2015.

Due to the different methods of recording information across 43 forces, a specific response from one constabulary should not be seen as an indication of what information could be supplied (within cost) by another.  Systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  For this reason responses between forces may differ, and should not be used for comparative purposes.
