Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)
Thank you for your email dated 22 February 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
Do you have any front line policing units or departments (not including administration or backroom departments) funded wholly or in part by private business or through commercial sponsorship?
Can you provide details of sponsorship deals or other funding arrangements between private business and your constabulary (not including administration or backroom departments)?
We would like you to identify any specific criminal investigations over the last 5 years in your force area which have been part funded by, or received any money from, private businesses or individuals to help fund that investigation?
In cases where money has been received by your force in whole or in part to fund specific investigations, we would like to know how much was received and from who?
We would like to find out how much money your force received by "hiring out" or "contracting out" police officers to private companies in the last year or the very latest year where these figures are available? We would like an itemisation of companies/businesses who paid for the "hiring out" or "contracting out" of police officers and how much the force received in each event.
We would also like a comparative figure for how much money your force received by "hiring" or "contracting out" police officers in 2005-6?
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Finance Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.
