Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your e mail dated 20 October 2016 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
1. How many crimes were committed by Polish suspects in 2015? Please provide 2014 figures also as a comparison
2. What kind of crimes and how many of them were committed by Polish suspects ? For example - In 2015 burglary – 20, assault - 35 , drink driving - 50
3. How many Polish offenders were arrested in 2015?
4. How many Polish victims do you have in your records?
5. How many of crimes and what kind of crimes were committed against the Polish victims ?
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
The information provided in response to questions 1 and 2 is based on the number of crimes that were committed in 2014 and 2015 where there is a person who has been charged or cautioned. Each crime is only counted once, however there may be multiple offenders.
The response for question 3 is based on the number of people arrested within 2014 and 2014 who have stated their nationality as Polish.

4 and 5. No information held. The nationality of victims is not recorded.
Due to the different methods of recording information across 43 forces, a specific response from one constabulary should not be seen as an indication of what information could be supplied (within cost) by another. Systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. For this reason responses between forces may differ, and should not be used for comparative purposes.
